Fabrication and application of graphene-based silicone grease

Abstract With the increasing power requirements of integrated circuits, demand for efficient cooling has followed suit. Silicone grease is commonly used due to its thermal stability and ability fill in airgaps between electronic components radiators. Previous works attempted increase grease’s conductivity by adding various additives such as boron nitride or functionalized carbon nanotubes. Functionalized graphene was chosen this study exceptional physical chemical properties. Results show that functionalization with several acid mixtures combined ball milling resulted a compound chemically equivalent thoroughly dispersed silicone grease. An optimal produced, containing 1 wt% Gr-COOH possessing 6.534 W mK −1 . The resulting performance dissipation approximated lifespan improvements compared commercially available using 200 LED. indicated 4.5 °C decrease saturation temperature LED chip along 257% conductivity.
